Happy Birthday , Masjah HAppy New Moon

I was going to write a whole thing about Masjah , and then as this weekend unfolds, I find myself just tearing up - with tears of joy and deepest gratitude - as people text , and leave cards , and express such love and compassion and true caring .

Masjah is all of you . all of us . thank you thank you thank you . to everyone .

It is a consciousness, a home, a sanctuary, a gym, dance studio, Yoga Ashram, healing center. It is what we manifest, what we create together .

An Incubator , as my Dad's good friend and a business consultant said , as he came to see Masjah Studio when we had opened 16 years ago .

INDEED! It has been a painting studio, a home to Zumba, Pound, Aerobics, Spin studio with a waiting list for Saturday mornings ! At one point we had three massage rooms and 4 massage therapists. We had a pilates reformer studio where now Terry Russo NP has her practice.

Hahahaa I actually taught spin in that room back before Masjah Studio - when it was Fit N Run .

Wow,a place to express create, discover, learn, be well, be inspired .

Sometimes challenging . Sometimes stuff comes up , people don't come to your class , an event is not what you thought . Triggers happen. Challenges happen . Offerings of opportunities to know yourself . See the imbalances , take responsibility . Acceptance and Right Action. Connecting through common ground .

Masjah surely shows me my stuff , and tests me over and over . I fire myself many times a week, knowing I could be better at the business part, the organization etc.

But, It really never was about me . And certainly I am mostly totally helped and supported and carried by Members, Instructors , Clients, Practitioners , and so many talented, dedicated , compassionate people who come and share their gifts . Masjah Studios , as it is called now ,

Masjah is Masjah, and still here because of such a community !

Masjah would not be here today without 2 women who stepped in , at different times, to become partners at running Masjah .

Sarah had been a member , and came to me at a time when her life was changing and she was in a position to come play at Masjah Studio , which then became Masjah Center

One of her first sentences to me was " you need a business manager !" Um yeah ... bookkeeping etc - not my strong point ...

And So ! we acquired the space that is now the yellow studio O and the exercise room H, and the practitioner rooms . Her husband Michael worked hard on renovations and was our go - to handy man ! I learned so much from Sarah, and always will be grateful .

Then , years later , as life had changed and Sarah moved into other avenues, Kelly had become a member and loved Masjah Studio so much that she too , came to me and offered her help as a partner . Oh help comes when you need , and I clearly needed help .

We became Masjah CenterLLC . Kelly was so dedicated and full of ideas and inspirations , and tireless ! I still marvel and am so grateful for her energy, ideas, implementations and generosity. We both learned so much about ourselves, and I am humbled and grateful!

I could go on and on . All those who have helped so much . All of you . We have gone with the flow of ever changing life, and now are thriving and jiving with many teachers and practitioners and events renting and sharing space.

And it goes beyond that . A dream always was, at the start of Masjah , that all communites could collaborate , help one another, build a field, an energy network, of wellness, hope , trust, faith , belonging , expression for the highest good

Communities now ARE are collaborating ! Expanding beyond the walls of our own studios and centers ! Many studios around the cape , many teachers and artists, dancers and yogis, healers, therapists , practitioners , are attending each others events, and joining in WEllness festivals, drum circles, retreats.

In a time of great challenge and much fear , know that people are gathering . WE are rebirthing a new nation of peace and harmony - standing strong as the polarities to our joyful expressions and compassions rise up - as they will , as they do . See our opportunities to realize and recognize our follies, our "trespasses", our differences , and come to a place where peace resides , like meeting in a meadow, where opposition and fear and anger can be seen and known and acknowledged . And shake hands with one another , and say . OK, Let's begin anew . Happy New Moon . New Beginnings. Happy Day.
